AN EVENING WITH LEE ROY PARNELL & FRIENDS AT HISTORIC FRANKLIN THEATRE CELEBRATING WITH THE HOT LINKS – A 20 YEAR HISTORY AS WELL AS WHAT’S TO COME
It’s been called blue-eyed soul, delta blues, road house rock and Texas swing; all appropriate labels for the music of Lee Roy Parnell. The Grammy-nominated artist will reunite with his Hot Links band on the occasion of their 20th anniversary for An Evening with Lee Roy Parnell & Friends, Saturday, July 13, 8:00 p.m., at the Franklin Theatre, Franklin , Tenn.
Parnell put together the Hot Links – James Pennebaker, Kevin McKendree, Lynn Williams and Stephen Mackey – in ’93 and stood his ground when it came time to use his touring band to record his albums, something almost unheard of at the time. To mark their 20th anniversary, this concert will be recorded for both a live CD and DVD. Fans can expect to hear Parnell classics like “Love Without Mercy,” “On the Road,” and “I’m Holding My Own” along with new music from his forthcoming studio album, Texiana. Parnell has invited some special guests and the concert will be filmed in one take without stopping and starting.
The Texas native has recorded for the Arista, Career and Vanguard labels and has enjoyed hits as an artist on both the country and blues charts as well as a songwriter, having scored hits for some of his peers. Widely respected as a guitar player (slide, National), the Gibson Lee Roy Parnell Signature ’57 Les Paul Goldtop bears his name.
Tickets for the Franklin Theatre show are $35 – $45 and are available by logging on to www.franklintheatre.com or by calling 615-538-2076.
The limited-edition, signed poster shown here will be available at the show.
